Computers Not Turning On
If your HP ProDesk desktop computer isn't turning on, follow
these steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Power Supply
- Ensure
the power cable is securely connected to both the computer and
the power outlet.
- Verify
the power outlet is working by plugging in another device.
2. Inspect the Power Button
- Press
the power button firmly. Sometimes, it might require a bit more
pressure.
- Look
for any signs of damage or wear on the power button.
3. Examine the Power Indicator Lights
- Check
for any lights on the front or back of the computer.
- No
lights could indicate a power supply issue.
- Blinking
lights might signal a hardware problem.
4. Listen for Beeps or Fan Noise
- No
sound could mean the computer isn't receiving power.
- Beeping
sounds can indicate specific hardware issues. Refer to the HP
ProDesk manual for beep codes.
5. Disconnect External Devices
- Unplug
all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) and try turning
on the computer again. Sometimes, peripherals can cause startup issues.
6. Reset the Power Supply
- Unplug

residual power.
