Chromebook FAQ sent to new users

When not using the Chromebook please make sure it is kept in a secure location. Each Chromebook has a login assigned to it so that you can streamline the use for Legacy Skilled. By using this login, you keep our data secure.

When you first receive your Chromebook, it will be set up and ready to go. All you need to do is login, and you will be brought to the Legacy Skilled login page. If you close Chrome and re-open it, the “Home” button has been added, you should see a bookmark for Legacy Links at the top left of Chrome.

First Login instruction

The login information assigned to this Chromebook is to be used, this profile has been created with security and ease of use in mind.

-The LHS Chromebook email is not an email but a login ID, please only use this to login, do not attempt to send emails or have emails sent to this login ID.

-For any Microsoft Office usage on Chromebooks, you will be prompted for a login. You will need to use your “legacyinc.com” email login to use Office Web applications. Currently, we are required to use Microsoft 365 web apps. There is a separate document available for Office 365 apps, You can find it on the Knowledge Base.

 If this Chromebook will create a surplus of devices (iPad, etc), please reach out to techsupport@legacyinc.com. We can provide a RS return sticker, so the device does not fall into the unused device group. We can then return device to corporate for wiping and de-allocation.

For assistance with your first-time login, please call 919-424-5077 so we can help you with the first-time login and assist with setting up a permanent password for your device.

Add your printer to your Chromebook

  1. At the bottom right, select the time.
  2. Select Settings .
  3. At the bottom, select Advanced.
  4. Under "Print and scan," select Printers.
  5. Under "Available printers to save," next to your printer, select Save.
  6. Check that your printer appears at the top, under "Saved printers."

If your printer doesn’t appear under "Available printers to save," you can also add your printer manually.

  1. At the bottom right, select the time.
  2. Select Settings .
  3. At the bottom, select Advanced.
  4. Under "Printing," select Printers.
  5. Next to "Add printer," select Add printer .
  6. Enter your printer information:
    • Name: Enter any name.
    • Address: Enter your printer’s IP address.
    • Protocol: For most printers, the supported connection protocol is IPP.
    • Queue: For most printers, the queue is ipp/print.
  7. You will find your Printers IP address by following this button path on your printer (Press Menu--Select [Print Reports] option, and then press OK---select the [Network Config] option, and then press OK) You will find the IP on this print out.
  8. Press Start.
  9. Select Add.

 

Step 2: Print a page 

  1. To print the page, image or document you’re viewing, press Ctrl + p. 

  1. Next to "Destination," select the Down arrow . 

  1. Select See more... 

  1. Choose your printer. Tip: Some printers will automatically show up on this list. If you don’t see your printer on the list, you can select Manage. 

  1. Select Print. 

 


 Office App and Webmail App

  1. Two blank apps will be pinned to the bottom of your Chromebook. 
  2. You may use these to access Office.com and webmail.legacyinc.com 
  3. Once you sign in the icons will update with logos to identify them
